Members of Parliament

Alfreton is a part of the parliamentary constituency of Amber Valley. The seat is currently held by the Conservative MP Nigel Mills who replaced Labour’s Judy Mallaber in 2010. The constituency is a highly marginal one and since its creation in 1983 it has constantly been held by the party in government. In parliamentary votes Mills generally votes with the Conservative Party although he will occasionally rebel. Mills had previously served on the Amber Valley Borough Council as well as the Heanor and Losocoe Town Council. Mills holds weekly surgeries around Amber Valley with details available here.
